About The ThirstyRock Hydration Tank Bag

Dehydration reduces performance, use ThirstyRock Hydration Tank Bag while you ride.

This motorcycle hydration system was designed and patented by an avid motorcycle touring enthusiast and long distance hiker - with all of this experience being thoughtfully implemented into each part of the design.

On a motorcycle trip through an arid hot Moab, Utah summer a few years ago, the concept to combine an ice-filled custom shaped bladder with a custom designed tank bag with dual thermal insulation and a retractable hydration hose was born.

This one-of-a-kind custom shaped 3.2 liter bladder was designed to fit into a small footprint 9 inch by 9 inch tank bag, with dual thermal lining, keeping ice water cold for hours and hours in 100 degree temperatures.

The bladder/reservoir holds 3.2 liters of water. It is made of BPA-free, high-grade hydration bladder material which has a 3.5 inch mouth for easy filling. A quick connect feature for the insulated hydration hose allows for easy disconnect from the bag making refills while refueling a snap.

Slogan: Hydrate or Die- Stay hydrated with the ThirstyRock Hydration Tank Bag for your motorcycle ride.

The insulated hydration hose is attached to a carabiner style retractable reel with a kevlar cord by a custom designed connector grip. This connector grip was purposely designed to be able to be handled easily by gloved hands and to be easily visible peripherally allowing the rider to keep their eyes on the road. The retractable reel can be attached to any one of 8 anchor points mounted to the tank bag’s exterior. This allows the rider to set the attachment location to what works best for them, allowing them to drink and have the hose safely retract back to the bag, keeping it out of the way and from interfering with operation of the motorcycle.

The hydration hose has 2 interchangeable bite valves, an angled bite valve which is more ergonomically friendly to various forms of headgear and helmets, etc. and a straight bite valve which works well with fullface and modular helmets.  A dust cap is also provided for each bite valve, protecting them from exhaust, dust and road particles.

When in the tank bag, the bladder sits inside a removable thermal liner that is an 8mm thick thermal aluminum insulation material. The liner can be removed for cleaning or to allow the tank bag to be used as a normal tank bag.

Men require 3 liters of water per day, women require 2.7 litters- Stay hydrated while riding by using the ThirstyRock Hydration Bag

The tank bag itself is designed to have a small footprint so when mounted on a tank, it won’t interfere with any gauges or other apparatus, and is out of the way allowing safe handling of the motorcycle.

The tank bag also features a wrap around magnet system that utilizes four lightweight super strong steel backed magnets, keeping the anti-scratch bottom material… nice and tight to the tank. There are 7 D-rings for added rider option mounting straps, and an attached adjustable strap for the handlebar neck assembly, 2 shoulder/tie-down straps included, all of which allow for universal mounting on any vehicle.

The exterior of the bag is made from ballistic grade nylon, 2 shoulder straps included allow the tank bag to be easily carried as a backpack or mailbag style when not on the bike.  Engineered into all 6 sides of the tank bag is a second thermal liner of closed cell foam encased in thermal aluminum material for additional thermal value and rigidity.

This hydration system provides the absolute best way for riders of motorcycles and off-road vehicles to hydrate when pursuing their passion.

Thirsty Rock Hydration - Hydration Tank Bag System
5 out of 5 stars I suffered a head and neck injury after being rear ended in my truck several years ago. I have spent a lot of time healing and only recently tried my backpack hydration system. Unfortunately wearing it led to neck pain and then back spasms due to my injury so I had to search for an alternative. I found ThirstyRock and decided to give it a try! I love it! I ride a KTM 990 Adventure on both pavement and dirt and the bag is small enough it doesn't interfere with my riding, even when standing on the pegs on the dirt. The retracting doohickey keeps the hose out of the way and easily accessible. It truly is amazing how much liquid the bag holds!I will get some photos as I get out more with the new bag and will recommend it to anyone searching for this type of system!

5 out of 5 stars First ride with their tank bag today, Salt Lake City to Phoenix, with much of the ride being 80+, and the last 1.5 hours above 100. The bag worked flawlessly, and having nice cold water readily available was a life saver. I’ll be ordering a second one to strap on my tourpak when we’re traveling 2-up! (FB Review)
