Dan Dougherty developing ThirstyRock Hydration Gear
The road that started it

A rider’s problem. A rider-built answer.

Coast Guard veteran and retired peace officer Dan Dougherty conceived the system after riding through the punishing heat around Moab. Dan and Irene turned the idea into working prototypes, tested what failed, and built the hydration gear they could not find anywhere else.

In their own words

Tested on real miles.

First ride with their tank bag today, Salt Lake City to Phoenix, with much of the ride being 80+, and the last 1.5 hours above 100. The bag worked flawlessly, and having nice cold water readily available was a life saver. I’ll be ordering a second one to strap on my tourpak when we’re traveling 2-up! (FB Review)

Just finished 3 day ride around eastern Nevada. Most of the ride was in +100 degree days. Your bag worked flawlessly and prevented me from getting overheated. Excellent! Thank you very much.

I do long distance rallies and Iron butt rides through all kinds of weather including extreme heat. I love my thirsty rock. I mount it to the top of my left pannier and it's easy to fill and keeps water cold. I also especially like the on/off valve. I remove the bite valve and just use the on/off valve so much easier than any other hydration pack I've used (and I've used a few).
